From: Game of Thrones Diet

If you're a fan of game of thrones, you may like to have a go at what I'm doing; a Game of Thrones inspired diet.

How to do
Divide weights from your current weight, to your ultimate goal weight into equal segments, or simply into weights which appeal to you. You should have seven weights all in all, the first being your current weight, and your last being your goal weight. I personally made the distances between the weights get smaller as I get lighter as the weight will be harder to get off.
To each of these weights, assign one of the main seven noble families of Westeros, by order of your preference. These families, just to remind you, are Greyjoy, Tyrell, Arryn, Baratheon, Tully, Lannister, Targaryen and of course, Stark. Ideally you would assign your current weight to your least favourite family, and build it up so that your favourite is your goal weight.
You may also assign your dream weight to the title of king or queen on the Iron throne.

To remain motivated, and remember your dedication to your current house, it helps to draw the sigil of your current house on your body, as a discrete reminder.

House Rules

As you know, each of the different houses have a very different approach to things, and as a result, as you move down each of the houses, so will your approach to weight loss. This will hopefully stop any plateaus as your diet will vary from weight to weight. Please note that although it is not essential to follow the exact food items listed, in terms of allergies/dislikes, the calories are important to follow.

House Greyjoy - words "we do not sow"
Allow an intake of less than 500 calories a day net.
Following their motto, you are not to eat wheat products such as bread or pasta as this is sown. Instead, you are encouraged to eat fish/ seafood as these would be in high supply for the family in the books and TV show.

House Tyrell - words "Growing strong"
Allow a total intake of 600-800 calories.
For this family, you are encouraged to eat fruits rich in antioxidants as the family is famed for their beauty. To match their words, you should partake in at least half an hour of cardio and half an hour of gentle weights a day, so you too will grow strong. There are no limits to the kind of foods you can eat with this family, due to them living on the fertile soil of The Reach.

House Arryn - words "As high as honour"
Allow an intake of less than 300 a day net.
The only meats to be consumed during this time is to be lean poultry such as chicken, due to their Sigil being a white falcon. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan, meat consumption is not necessary, rather the concentration is on cutting fatty red and processed meats out of the diet. Egg whites are also encouraged for consumption. Other than limits on meat, all other foods can be eaten within this calorie limit.

House Baratheon - words "Our is the fury"
Allow a total intake of less than 500 calories a day net.
Due to house Baratheon being divided into three factions within the war of the five kings - Joffrey, Stannis and Renly, you should divide your intake into three different points of the day, rather than just one meal which is the trend of people on MPA. One meal can be hot - Stannis, with the lord of light. One meal should be a low cal liquid, such as fruit juice, a broth, or a smoothie, to avoid choking like Joffrey (although admittedly he did choke on a drink..) The aim of a few small meals rather than one large meal is to encourage the speeding of metabolism.

House Tully - words "Family, duty, honour"
Allow an intake of less than 300 a day net.
As their sigil features a trout, the only meat you are allowed during this time is fish or seafood. If you do not like either of these, you should try temporary vegetarianism or veganism - the aim is to cut down on fatty meat, so if you already do not eat it this should not affect you.
During this time you should drink lots of water, to match the fish theme.

House Lannister - words "Hear me roar"
Allow an intake of less than 500 a day net.
Limits on this house are to raw foods only (hear me roar) such as fruit and vegetables. You are encouraged to save the money you would have otherwise spent on other foods, in order to match the wealth of this noble family.

House Targaryen - words "Fire and blood"
Allow an intake of 600-900 a day.
To match the fiery flames of this families ties with dragons, you should eat hot foods - these help increase metabolism.
Also, as Daenery's is dedicated to the freeing of slaves, and the Dothraki's fear of the sea, you must only eat foods which are grown in your own country. For the British like me, this means carrots, apples and tomatoes, instead of the often fattier imports of bananas, oils etc, although depending on your country you will have different foods available.

House Stark - words "Winter is coming"
Allow an intake of 1000 calories a day (total calories not net)
To match the icy coldness of the north, you should drink ice cold water or frozen diet coke. From years of hardship the Starks have grown to too be hard and unyielding, so you should eat a majority of harder foods, such as vegetables and apples, rather than bread, in a ratio of around 80 to 20. Harder foods take longer to break down in the stomach, so should keep you fuller for longer, and also decreases the chance of binging by making eating more of a challenge. The family of Stark are not in the game of thrones to win, but rather to survive, so this family is more about slowly making your way to maintenance, rather than quick weight loss, therefore it is recommended to be one of your lower goal weights.
